Every time Radiohead release new material, it feels like Christmas Day. Their backlog of work is like no other. Their latest offering seems like more proof that they are at the forefront of originality and creativity in the contemporary scene.
It's their most indescribable album yet. The band experiments even more with electronic ambience and delves further into the eeriness it excels in. The eight-track album is barely longer than 30 minutes, making it Radiohead's shortest album to date, but the material is truly compelling.
The abstract electronica of "The King of Limbs" may seem a little overwhelming at first, however I found myself grow increasingly addicted to tracks like 'Lotus Flower' and 'Bloom'.
If you were to compare this effort to more accessible albums like 1995's "The Bends" or 2007's "In Rainbows," you will realise this band has no interest in working with a formula.
The album is like a maze with splendor around every corner. There is always another sound to be heard hiding beneath the cacophony. It has all the requirements of a great Radiohead album — artistry, beauty, complexity and Thom Yorke's angelic voice.
